Data sources and calculation method
GoldPrice.Today provides indicative gold content values, historical observations and educational explanations. The site does not execute trades, sell bullion or collect a separate shop quote for every location.
Current rate snapshots
The home page retrieves a currency widget from Investing.com when its stored snapshot is more than approximately two minutes old. It extracts USD currency pairs, including USD/XAU, and stores the result for other pages to use. This is a third-party web source, not a guaranteed streaming feed or an official LBMA benchmark feed.
Refreshes depend on page requests and provider availability. A snapshot may be delayed. Its displayed storage time tells you when this site wrote the data, not the exact time of the provider’s underlying trade or quote.
Indicative gold value, excluding dealer premiums, taxes and making charges. Rate snapshot refreshed: . The snapshot time is when this site stored the data, not a guaranteed market tick time. Sources and calculation method.
Gold and currency conversions
If the source expresses how many troy ounces one USD buys, the USD price of one ounce is its reciprocal. The local ounce estimate is that USD price multiplied by the source’s local currency units per USD.
Local currency per ounce = USD per ounce × local currency units per USD
Price per gram = ounce price ÷ 31.1034768
Price per tola = gram price × 11.6638038
Price per kilogram = gram price × 1,000
The calculator multiplies by the requested weight and selected purity factor. A 24K reference uses 1.000; the other factors are 0.916 for 22K, 0.875 for 21K, 0.750 for 18K, 0.585 for 14K and 0.417 for 10K. Actual assay results and fineness marks can differ from these approximate conventions.
Historical observations
The history importer obtains USD-based historical rates from XE and stores daily dates and currency rates. Charts read up to 3,700 stored observations. Country tables show up to 370 recent stored rows. They do not measure intraday highs, lows or a guaranteed full calendar year.
The available USD chart series currently covers 2016-03-25 through 2026-05-11, with 3,700 observations. Other currencies and the underlying database copy may have different coverage.
The yearly summary calculates averages, minima and maxima from the available observations and labels their coverage dates. It does not label a partial year as a complete annual record. A missing recent date is a data gap, not evidence that the price was unchanged.
Location pages and retail prices
Locations are matched to a currency and preferred display unit. Locations sharing a currency use the same converted reference. Retail premiums, making charges, taxes, spreads, product-specific fineness and resale deductions are not included. Request an itemised quote from a seller for a transaction price.
The 30-day statistical scenario
The forecast uses recent returns, estimated volatility, a moving-average target and deterministic pseudo-random variation. It is a conventional statistical calculation, not an AI-generated analyst forecast. The displayed volatility band is not a calibrated confidence interval. An old historical series can distort the model when a newer snapshot is appended across missing dates.
Read the model assumptions and limitations before interpreting the scenario.
